Scratchpad ​

The Scratchpad is a persistent, quick-access utility in the Toolbar designed for capturing fleeting ideas, pasting research findings, or drafting notes without navigating away from your current workflow.

The Scratchpad operates as an overlay, allowing you to quickly toggle your notes without losing your place in the platform.

  • Initial Setup: When you open the Scratchpad for the first time within a project, you must select an existing note or create a new one to serve as your active Scratchpad.
  • Project Persistence: The platform remembers your selection as long as you remain in the current project context. Alternatively, use the Notebook to select a different active note.
  • Switching Notes: To use a different note, click the back arrow icon in the top-left corner of the Scratchpad overlay to return to the selection menu.
  • Closing the Scratchpad: To exit the view and return to the main interface, click the X icon in the far top-right corner of the overlay.

Editor Features ​

The Scratchpad provides a rich-text editing environment with a formatting toolbar located at the bottom of the view. This allows you to apply headings, bolding, lists, and even mathematical formulae using LaTeX.

For your peace of mind, changes are autosaved.

Management Actions ​

The top-right corner of the Scratchpad interface contains several tools for managing your note:

  • Edit: Click this to rename the current note.
  • Delete: Permanently remove the note from the project.
  • More Actions (...): Access additional utilities; specifically, Copy as Markdown for easy porting to other editors and Print / Save as PDF for external sharing.

As with all assets in a project, your Scratchpad note is visible to all project collaborators, ensuring that team members can contribute to shared drafts in real time.
