Quick Assistant ​

The Assistant is your primary AI-powered research collaborator. It can answer complex biological questions, analyze data patterns, and help you draft research plans. While it is accessible from the Navigation Sidebar on the left as a full-page view, the Toolbar provides quick access to its sidebar-integrated mode.

Using the Assistant Sidebar ​

Clicking Assistant in the Toolbar opens a dedicated right-hand sidebar. This allows you to query the AI while maintaining a clear view of your dashboard or active datasets.

Model and Agent Selection ​

You can tailor the Assistant's performance by selecting specific underlying models or specialized agent teams:

  • Model Selection: Use the model dropdown (e.g., GPT-OSS 120B or GPT-5.4 Nano) to choose the Large Language Model (LLM) that best fits your task's complexity and speed requirements.
  • Agent Teams: By typing @ or using the agent menu, you can direct your query to a specialized team:
    • Nexus: Specialist for discovering biomedical datasets.
    • Policy Analyst: Focuses on medical and healthcare policy.
    • Hypothesis Maker: Retrieves literature and proposes novel research directions.
    • ELO Rater: Rates research hypotheses for originality.
    • Feasibility Analyst: Analyzes resources, costs, risks, and timelines.
    • Research Planner: Creates concise, actionable research plans.

If no specific agent is selected, the platform intelligently routes your query to the most appropriate tool based on the context of your question.

Expanded View and Advanced Actions ​

To maximize your workspace, you can expand the Assistant to a centered view using the expansion icon in the top-right of the sidebar. This is the same as calling the Assistant from the Navigation Sidebar on the left-hand side.

Response Management ​

When working in the expanded center-screen view, each generated response includes a set of actionable icons at the bottom:

  • Copy: Copies the entire response to your clipboard for use in external documents.
  • Save to note: Automatically appends the response to your current active Scratchpad note.
  • Regenerate: Prompts the Assistant to re-process the query and provide a fresh perspective or updated formatting.
